Some more advice from back in the day of what to do if you think you are masturbating too much.
Hello I’m 15 almost 16 and I masturbate at least 3 times a day… How can u help it make it towards where I don’t masturbate so much??
Hey
Firstly, masturbation is totally normal, fine, fun, amazing, lovely, safe, good for you, ok, cool, sexy. So it’s no wonder that people masturbate and it’s no wonder that people masturbate a lot (lots of people masturbate at least 3 times per day). Which is fine.
But if you want to masturbate less you could try:
Getting older
I think that you’ll find, as you get older, that you either want to masturbate less or are more able to masturbate when you want to. 15 almost 16 year olds are often discovering sex and feeling sexy for the first time. It’s exciting seeing people that you find hot and it can feel like every little thing can make you feel turned on and sexy. When you get a bit older, you’ll still feel this way but maybe a little less (probably because you’ll have other things to occupy yourself too).
Masturbate less but better
You could maybe decrease the number of times that you masturbate (if you want to, you don’t have to) by focussing on quality rather than quantity. Give yourself a time of the day when you are going to masturbate, set some time and space aside, and have one really really really good wank. By giving yourself permission to have one great solo session per day, it might make it easier to restrain yourself from masturbating at other times.
Do your chores, then masturbate
Another thing you could try is what my friend calls ‘the Reward Wank’. You could give yourself time to masturbate after you’ve done something that you really need to get done: for instance school/college work. My friend says it got him through his A levels (he got great marks by the way).
We still have a stigma around masturbating, which I think is a shame. So long as it’s; not hurting, in private or stopping you from doing what you need to do, then it’s fine.
Hope this helps
Justin

Other websites you might find helpful
There are other websites a bit like this one who have more funding than mine so they can do more and can provide more support. There’s Scarleteen who have lots of great advice articles and also moderated message boards where you can hang out and ask questions of other folk like you. Brook also offer sexual health services in person in the UK and online. The Mix are a UK online youth support service. For straight up advice I really like Go Ask Alice from Columbia University. Remember if you are in the UK and want some support there are loads of services near you, lots of them have their own websites.

I’m not using social media much now to be honest. I put all my time into this website and also I think people trust sites like this more than social media. I still post on Instagram and also BlueSky when I’ve done a new thing, so you can follow me there. My YouTube has some of my old videos. You could also follow me on Reddit if you like (just starting out, so tell me which sub-reddits you’d like to see me post in).
